In this role, you will be responsible for documenting business processes and associated rules in the context of Health Care Data Warehousing and/or Health Care Business Intelligence. You will serve as a liaison between the IT team and different business groups. The purpose will be to act as the bridge between the two, reducing, if not completely eliminating the risk of poor translation of business requirements into technology terms. Occasional domestic travel between client site and home office may be required. Working during non standard hours may be required.
- Identify experts in both processes and subject matter. In the process of business analysis, craft the appropriate questions for each group.
- Scoping and estimation of project requirements for complex business projects.
- Is responsible for working through user problems and conflicts and getting the users to communicate freely
- Is responsible for meticulously documenting requirements such that they are understood by the technical community, including the data modeler. Is also the point person when the technical team is in need of clarification
- Is responsible for working with architects, developers and testers to ensure all three are always aligned with actual project goals
- Leads engagement with the business and engineering teams identifying business issues, conducting analysis, and partnering with the business and IT to define requirements and solutions
- Champions technology change, leading the business beyond immediate requests into a solution strategy
- Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- Course of Study/Major: Business Administration or Information Systems
- Related Work Experience: 4-6 years
- Minimum of 4 years related experience in business and systems analysis, preferably in a health care provider environment and health care data mining
- Personal qualities: innovation, resourcefulness, tenacity, independence, energy, and self-confidence
- Broad understanding of business intelligence technologies, including ETL, OLAP, Data Mining, Dashboards, Balanced Scorecards, Analysis and Reporting tools
- Candidates must have hands-on experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Suite of applications
- Highly developed skills for discerning wants from needs and determining core functionality requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience with relational databases and data structures, data modeling techniques and concepts
- Demonstrate ability to apply technical solutions to business processes and operations in a health care environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external customers
- Demonstrate ability with Word, Visio, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Travel as necessary
- Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree
- Course of Study/Major: MBA or MIS
- Work Experience: 6-8 years
- Health Care Background preferred
- Industry experience preferred
- Experience/exposure in Balanced Scorecard theory
- Experience/exposure to ORYX for Hospitals, Core Measures and Hospital Core Measures
