Application Engineer (Web Developer)

SUMMARY

The Web Developer will be responsible for supporting the existing infrastructure as well as develop new technologies. You will work with a team in a very demanding, fast-paced, and dynamic health care environment.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop new Web applications as identified by supervisor and management through packaged and customized applications.
• Maintain and enhance existing Web applications for both customer-facing and integrated internal systems.
• Perform complete testing of Web applications unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
• Conduct all user acceptances testing, and report results.
• Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
• Develop database-driven Web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing.
• Develop external Web portals allowing users to input and retrieve accurate information.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Course of Study/Major: Computer Science, MIS, Statistics
• Related work Experience 4-6 years
• Demonstrated ability to learn business process and operations and apply technical solutions.
• Personal qualities: Innovation, Resourcefulness, Tenacity, Independence, Energy and Self-Confidence
• Experience with front-end web development
• Knowledge of HTML and XHTML Web technologies and applications.
• Experience with the following:  CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, DOM, jQuery, Prototype and other JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with either or both: Oracle APEX or PL/SQL.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external customers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Travel as necessary

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Education and Experience
• Master’s Degree
• Course of Study/Major: MBA or MIS
• Work Experience: 6-8 years
• Proven Web and Database Development experience.
• In depth ASP, JSP, JavaScript, CSS and (X) HTML knowledge
• Strong database knowledge specifically Oracle PL/SQL
• APEX web development
• Web / Graphical Design skills would be desirable
• Flash video/animation experiences a plus
• Health Care Background preferred
• Industry experience preferred
